Q – Not the best result last weekend at Crystal Palace, but were you please with the performance?

Yes I was very pleased with the application and it gave a good indication of how good we can be. We know we're lacking a striker as such and that was highlighted by the 0-0 score line despite us having over 20

shots on goal. With that said, I think a lot of positives can be taken from the game. The performances of Zouma and Keane at the back in particular and Gueye in the middle was encouraging. I also think you have to give credit to Schneiderlin who has played very well in the absence of Gomes

Q – The same question seems to be asked every week, but do Everton need to invest in a number 9 this summer based solely on Calvert Lewin’s lack of goals?

I think we need something but if we're to get someone I don't want it to be to at the detriment of the midfielders who have chipped in with goals this season. I think I'd much prefer a player who will compliment Gylfi and Richarlison over someone who will take away their importance and simply hunt goals. You look across the park and they’ve got exactly the type of player we need in Firminio but we all know that players of that mould and quality are hard to come by!

Q – Whilst it took a hit, the European dream isn’t over yet. A good result against Burnley puts the pressure back on Wolves in 7th. Do you want to see European football at Goodison next season?

I for one am an advocate of wanting Thursday night football. You see this season how seriously Chelsea and Arsenal have taken it. Chelsea obviously have used a 'weakened' squad throughout and that is due to the mass numbers they have. Arsenal on the other hand haven't made a hell of a lot of wholesale changes in the latter rounds and they're still competing for 4th and have one foot in the final. Obviously we would need to find the right balance in the summer to be able to cope with being in 4 competitions but that has to be the aim regardless in my opinion, whether it be sooner or later.

Q – Finally, as we mentioned it’s Burnley up next. How do you see the blues setting up for this one and how do you see the game going?

I think pretty much the same as Palace, where we done everything but put the ball in the net. It's the last game at home so let's hope the players leave us with happy memories over the summer! I fancy Silva to send his team out to be open and expansive and after the reverse fixture, why not?!
